Training & Development Questions
What training will I receive when I start?
We are all about our people; relationships are the glue and the grease of our business. So from day one we want to get to know the real you and for you to get to know each other too. We do this via our company wide induction for all graduates and placements along with other networking opportunities throughout your programme. This is to help you understand the business, and get a comprehensive introduction to each of the different business areas. You will have business specific training to help you be successful in your role and learn about your department. Your training will be a blend of classroom learning, project work and on-the-job training.
Will I receive ongoing development opportunities once I have finished my programme?
We will recognise your natural strengths and help you to maximise them. Your career development is very important to us. Once you have completed your initial training, we will continue to provide you with opportunities to develop your skills, so that nothing can hold you back from achieving your true potential.
And because one size doesn’t fit all, you’ll have options including:
- 1-2-1 sessions with your line manager.
- Project work.
- Development workshops.
- Technical training
- Mentor sessions.
- Regular informal feedback.
- Formal appraisals.
You’ll be perfectly positioned to drive your personal development onwards and upwards.
What is the typical career path at TJX Europe?
There are no typical career paths at TJX Europe – it really depends on you and what you want from your career. You’ll gain responsibility quickly, making real decisions and adding real value right from the start. Not everyone in our business is the same and therefore people’s career paths will vary. You will have the opportunity to develop in your business area but along the way you may decide you want to try different areas – there could be opportunities available you haven’t even thought about yet.
Will I study for any professional qualifications?
For some of our Programmes you will study for a professional qualification. Please see the relevant programme for further information.
