Graduate & Placement Programme FAQs
What is the application process?
Our application process is three stages – Application, Online Assessments and Assessment Centre. Please see How to Apply for more information about our application process.
Do you accept CVs or applications by email?
We’re afraid not. All applications need to be submitted via our website. We do not accept speculative applications by email.
Who should I address my cover letter to?
Although our application system gives you an option to upload a cover letter, it is not a requirement! As we ask for your motivations and knowledge of the company/programme on the application form, and we can see your experience on your CV, we get all the information we need from here, so no need to worry about writing a cover letter.
Who do I contact if I experience technical problems with my application?
If you experience technical problems with the online application system please phone 00800 333 800 33 and select option 5.
If you experience technical problems with the online assessments please contact the following:
Talent Q – please email them at firstname.lastname@example.org
Hirevue – please email them at email@example.com or phone them on 001 800 655 4106.
If you experience any other difficulties when applying please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
What is the deadline for applications?
We recruit on a rolling basis, which means that all applications are processed on a first come, first served basis until we’ve completed hiring for the programme. Therefore as we don’t have deadlines, the earlier you apply, the greater chance you have of being successful.
Can I defer my offer?
All applications to our programmes must be made for the current academic year – we do not defer offers to the following year.
If my application isn’t successful – will you give me feedback as to why?
Everyone attending an Assessment Centre has the opportunity to receive feedback on their performance. However, due to the large volume of applications we receive, it isn’t possible for us to provide individual feedback to those who are not invited to an Assessment Centre.
Can I apply to more than one of the programmes in the same academic year?
Although we’re delighted that you would like to pursue numerous opportunities to work with TJX Europe, the programmes we offer present very different opportunities, therefore it is unlikely that more than one will fit your career preferences. We would encourage you to identify which is the most suitable programme for you, and apply only to that one. We can only accept one application per person at any point in the academic year. If your application is unsuccessful for one programme, we will not be able to consider you for another later on in the year.
If I am not successful in any stage of my application, can I apply again?
Unfortunately, you are unable to submit more than one application in the same academic year, however you are more than welcome to reapply for any of our programmes in the following academic year. Should you choose to reapply, you will then go through the same recruitment process as the other candidates.
Is my application processed by an automated system?
No, every application received is screened by a member of our Early Careers Team.
How long will it take for my application to be processed?
We receive a lot of applications and we review all of them. As we want to give every application the attention it deserves, it can take a little time. We aim to provide candidates with a final outcome within three months of your initial application. For more information about our recruitment process please read the How to Apply section of our website.
Do you provide outcomes to everyone?
We provide outcomes to all candidates at every stage of the process, whether successful or not, and we’ll do our best to come back to you as soon as we can.
