What is it like working for TJX Europe?
TJX Europe has a family culture. It is an environment where you can be yourself, and truly thrive in. Everyone is so approachable which means that you are never far from a helping hand, especially when you are coming across new challenges. Every day is different which keeps it exciting.
Tell me about your career progression/on-going development with TJX Europe.
In the Loss Prevention Graduate Programme we have been given the opportunity to see a 360 view of the business. We have been able to learn the processes from our supply chain to our stores and how loss can occur in them. In our second year we will be taking on a more management role. We will be working with store management teams by looking into the detail of the stores, whilst trying to reduce loss and deter crime.
How much responsibility are you given?
During my first year, I have been responsible for my own learning whilst going through the different rotations. When shadowing the management teams, I was gradually able to assume more responsibility when helping to manage a district. In year two, we will have the opportunity to manage store loss prevention teams. This can involve working and engaging with our peers and store management teams.
What is your typical working day?
There is no such thing as a typical day in Loss Prevention! Every day is different and the plans we make for a week are ever changing. New challenges can pop up when we least expect them, which helps us to understand how to prioritise our working day to suit the needs of the business. We may be helping with investigations one minute and then liaising with our processing centres and third parties the next! Whether it is travelling to one of our sites in a different country or visiting a store down the road, what we do in our working day is pretty flexible.
