What is it like working for TJX Europe?

Working for TJX Europe has been for me an incredible journey. There are two traits that best describe this company: the people and the culture of mistakes. I have always received an incredible amount of support and I have always worked in a familiar and supportive environment. Moreover, in this company we have a unique approach to mistakes: they are actually encouraged, because it is only through mistakes that you can learn. Also, it is an indication that you have tried something new, that you have challenged the status quo.

Tell me about your career progression/on-going development with TJX Europe.

I have joined the Graduate programme in September 2015, starting as an analyst in the Home department. I got my first promotion and move 6 months after, joining a new team with whom I have worked for 9 months. I then got promoted to Assistant Merchandiser and moved team again in October 2016. My last promotion was to Assistant Buyer in July 2017, joining the menswear team.

How much responsibility are you given?

From the first day after the end of training I have received a considerable amount of responsibilities. I felt I could have an impact with every action I took and I always had people around me to help me and support me. Along with the progression new responsibilities arrived, always allowing me to challenge myself and learn.

What is a typical working day like?

Well let’s start by saying that there is never one day like the other. Most of the times I barely know my agenda for the following week. And that is to me the really exciting element: working in a dynamic environment where every day is different.
