When did you join the programme?
What is it like to work at TJX Europe? No day at TJX is ever the same; there is always a new opportunity. The culture is so friendly and open and we like to have fun while we work – you only ever have to come into the office around Comic Relief to see what it’s like! TJX wants its people and business to succeed, and this makes for a great supportive atmosphere whichever function you work in.
How much responsibility are you given? You are given responsibility from day one at TJX – it’s the best way to learn our business model! Every person counts, and that means getting stuck in!
Tell me about the training you received when you joined. The training when I joined the company was incredible, spending three months learning the off-price business model and my role. The training throughout my time at TJX has been great, and whenever I have changed job roles I feel like I have always been given the right training and tools to enable me to be successful.
Tell me about your career progression/on-going development with TJX Europe. I started at TJX on the graduate scheme in September 2008. I spent three years in Merchandising, where I became a Merchandiser in Womenswear. I then moved into Buying where I bought for a number of different areas including handbags, sunglasses and womens activewear. I’ve recently moved back into Merchandising as a Merchandise Director, heading up the Accessories team for our stores in the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands.
