Open to flexibility?
Thanks to the unique way in which our off-price business model works, our IT function underpins all our business activities, fuels our growth and provides the technology that enables us to deliver outstanding value to our customers.
Our IT function works in partnership with every area of our business, including Merchandising & Buying, Supply Chain, E-commerce, Corporate Functions and Store Operations. It’s a truly global department, with a remit that spans our European business, as well as TJX in North America and Australia, so you might find yourself collaborating with colleagues in Europe, the US, Canada and beyond.
Our core areas of IT are as follows:
The Plan function are forward-looking, and identify the latest technology trends and future opportunities which will ensure our Off-price business is successful and continues to grow. This function includes our Strategic Planning & Architecture Team.
Our Build function is built up of our IT Solution Delivery teams and include Development, Testing, Project Management and Business Analysis. They take the plans and focus on designing, developing, testing and launching new technology into our business. To do this they need strong relationships with all areas of our business. They make our future plans a reality.
The Run team (Infrastructure, Operations & Security) cover a vast remit – they keep our buyers buying, our stores selling and our systems secure and compliant. Essentially it’s about “keeping the lights on” 24/7, 365 days a year. If a problem arises they are the first line of support, there’s nothing they can’t handle!
We also have a number of Product Teams, which bring Plan, Build and Run together to deliver some of our most critical business applications. Our Product Teams make use of ‘Scaled Agile’ methods to make sure that they are always working on the things that matter most.
On our Graduate Technical Programme you will have the opportunity to focus on one of these areas as part of a Build or Product team, and become a deep expert in the technology that makes them tick.
You might get involved in anything from bespoke software development, the implementation of enterprise software packages used by major global retailers, or even building of key reports and dashboards that help us understand our business performance. Either way, our 12-month programme sets you up for a fascinating and varied career in retail technology.
