Graduate & Placement Programmes
Discover a changing game
We have a completely different approach to finance. Our off-price business model is integral to everything we do – it means we can’t just follow the usual methods and practices. In fact, it’s our unique, agile approach to financial strength that gives us the flexibility to run our business day-to-day, adapt to market changes, seize new opportunities and ultimately deliver growth.
If you were to join our Finance European Graduate Programme or Placement Programme, you’ll be intrinsic to the success of our business from the start of your career – and viewing finance models from an entirely new perspective.
Our Finance division is made up of four core pillars:
Working here you’ll partner with Retail, Distribution, e-Commerce and all Head Office functions. You’ll support and crucially challenge, the business as we continue to grow throughout Europe. In turn this helps us make informed decisions to maximise return on investment and ensure we hit our financial and operational targets.
Business Planning & Analysis (BP&A)
A highly strategic post. Here you’ll have a hand in preparing the European long-range plans and budgets, as well as updating financial forecasts throughout the year. In addition, you’ll analyse data from our business results (and our competitors). For example, you might examine how a particular in-store merchandising trial is performing and suggest how it might be improved or extended.
Financial Control (comprises three teams in all)
The Analysis Team, which partners with Buying and Merchandising, and provides insight into how we manage liquidity (so we can capture exciting deals), identify opportunities and manage risks.
The Reporting Team focuses on long-range budgeting, short-term forecasting and weekly reporting on gross margin and inventory flow, as well as reporting key financial metrics to the European and Global business.
The Inventory Control Team, which partners with various functions across the business. They are responsible for ensuring the financial integrity in our stock ledger and ensuring that our supply chain operations are not compromised.
This is home to the fundamentals of finance. Here we focus on the core principles of accounting, produce our Financial Statements and partner with a wide range of functions throughout the business. The skills and knowledge can be applied across all of the Finance functions. The team provide monthly and quarterly financial performance updates to a variety of stakeholders including our Corporate Accounting team in the US, who will report this to the Financial markets.
