Open to changing the game?
Our off-price business model means we have a completely different approach to finance – for us, it’s integral to everything we do. In fact, it’s only through a combination of financial strength and flexibility that we’re able to run our business day-to-day, adapt to the market, act with agility on new opportunities and ultimately grow. Which is why when you join our Finance European Graduate Programme or Placement Programme you will be intrinsic to the success of the business right from the start of your career.
Our Finance division is made up of four core pillars:
In Commercial Finance, you’ll partner with Retail, Distribution, e-Commerce and all Head Office functions. Working here, you’ll support and, crucially, challenge the business as we continue to grow throughout Europe. In turn this helps us make informed decisions to maximise return on investment and ensure we hit our financial and operational targets.
Business Planning & Analysis (BP&A)
BP&A is highly strategic. Here you’ll have a hand in preparing the European long-range plans and budgets as well as updating financial forecasts throughout the year. Additionally, you’ll be looking at information from our business (and our competitors) to analyse results and see, for example, how a particular in-store merchandising trial is performing.
There are three teams in financial control.
The Analysis team partners with Buying and Merchandising, and provides insight into how we manage liquidity (so we can capture exciting deals), identify opportunities and manage risks.
The Reporting team focusses on long-range budgeting, short-term forecasting and weekly reporting on gross margin and inventory flow, as well as reporting key financial metrics to the European and Global business.
The Inventory Control team partners with various functions across the business and are responsible for ensuring the financial integrity in our stock ledger and that our supply chain operations are not compromised.
This is where you’ll find the home of the fundamentals of finance. It provides accurate and timely financial information to a variety of stakeholders including our Boston-based Corporate Accounting team (we’re NYSE listed so the reporting we provide supports our SEC filings and earnings announcements), local regulatory organisations in all of the countries in which we trade and – critically – to the managers who run the business.
